Want to start making my own blocks (with hhb's recipe on here....). I have my four greys (wintering over) and four flyers, one of which in about 4-5 months old. Can they all eat the same recipe or would I need to make different ones for each? HELP!!!!!

I use the same blocks that I make but I cut them in half for the flyers. But unfortunately my older flyers and the wild ones won't eat them very often. I just keep some in their houses anyway and during the day they can munch on them if they are hungry.

I found the way to get my older flyers to eat them...I warm them for a few seconds in the micro....they love em' warm! lol

Thanks!

I would PM 4skwerls for that info.
It seems to me that the nocturnal Flyers would have different RDAs than the diurnal Grays especially regarding calcium and D3

My flyer won't touch the booballs ... not even warmed. Looks like she has a sophisticated pallet. Now to figure out how to get enough calcium in her. I do not want any future MBD issues. Wonder if I could interest her in some warm fox valley. Can flyers have the FV 32/40?

Yes, they can. I wasn't talking about the booballs, was talking about warming up HHB's to get them to eat them....lol (my guys LOVE the booballs, though, just the way they are! lol)

Figures MY flyer wouldn't like my own recipe (Booballs). Go figure. :shakehead

I will offer her some warm formula from a syringe. Hopefully she will like it. I will report back. :thumbsup

Well, she liked the FV. She took maybe .3 - .4, but I guess that's alot for such a tiny little girl. Will that be enough daily to prevent MBD?

Def. a good start! Does she eat yogurt? You can mix some FV powder into that, as well. Or sprinkle some on her veggies.
