I have a bunch of CaCl laying around. It's leftover from when I used to grow corals in my saltwater aquarium..

I make suet for the birds, but a lot of ingredients are not so great for the squirrels.. such as peanut butter, corn meal etc

Anyone use calcium chloride for a supplement?

I assume that to make the peanut butter better, I would add approximately 650 mg of elemental calcium to every 100 grams of peanut butter (it is listed as 43:358 in the nutrition chart)

NO!
Calcium carbonate
Calcium Citrate
Have less calcium but are not toxic
look for elemental

when they speak of elemental calcium they mean just calcium so for example I have..Tums or something with 750mg CalCarb...the actual calcuim would be around 350mg
You have to read the labels...there is also magnesium in them as well so you have to factor all of that in too.
