Has anyone used Baycox for Coccidia? If so, what's the dosage? I've heard that you only need to administer it twice and the Coccidia is gone. Sounds promising, but I'd like to know if anyone else has used it and your experience with it. Thank you!

I've heard of it and may have used it in the distant past but not on squirrels.
Albon is used more commonly from what I know...which isn't much.

When Toby tested positive again for Coccidia, my old/new on the case vet gave him Strongid (pyrantel paomate), and it knocked it out. I hope your squirrely feels better soon.

Oh crap!!! I grabbed the wrong bottle when I typed up the response. Pardon me, Mugz. You can put the ruler away and spare my wrists. Honest mistake - haven't gotten much sleep in the past 2 days -

The medicine used was SMZ-TMP. I've got the bottle right here :)

You guys are too funny, LOL! He's on SMZ currently but we are having a heck of a time getting him to take the second dose at night. I'm mixing it in with some peanut butter and adding it to crushed squirrel block. This is Magnus, my wild squirrel with the broken back and I don't want him to get soured on his squirrel blocks because of this. Last night it took me 45 minutes to coax him to eat it. It was well after dark and he's in an outside cage. After I posted this, another experienced rehabber contacted me and told me about ponazuril, two doses in two consecutive days and we should be done. She's used this quite successfully. That is sounding pretty good to me. Thanks for your help ladies :jump
