At Petsmart tonight, I purchased Bedding by the name of:

Big Bag O'Bedding by Fuzzy Buddy.

It says it is "all natural, safe, and non-toxic." Ideal for all small animals. Lists MANY but of course NOT squirrels! LOL

Does anyone know anything about this bedding?

Nos had pulled some fluff from a new hanging tent a few weeks ago, He uses it in his tent now all of the time. He has so much fun w/it. It has become dirty and needs replaced.

Just wondering if this bedding is OK?

Thanks!

I have used it before with my squirrels and all went well so you should be ok - the only down side of using it is that if it is given to baby squirrels they will pee on it and you will have to dispose of it sooner than you planed to... thats why fleece is generally recommended to use with all ages of squirrels - fleece keeps them dry, cozy, warm and its easy to clean (just toss in washer) then dryer.

You can get fleece from Wal-mart or any Fabric store in your town.... they will cut them to size for you.
Here are some no-sew items you can make from fleece for the cage http://www.suzsugargliders.com/nosewaccessories.htm

You know what Mister P has in the bottom of his enclosure? Bed sheets! The floor of his enclosure is a nylon tarp with a canvas dropcloth on top, all attached to the bottof the cage (tarp against the carpeting, dropcloth side up. I throw bedsheets over the bottom of the cage and daily I shake them out and sweep up the poops and food, then throw them down again. He loves sheets - he tunnels under them and schnoozles around on them, gets a running start and does the Tom Cruise "Rishy Business" slide (he needs socks) and the cleanup is so easy...

I use a fleece blanket and line the bottom of the cage, I bought them for 5 bucks, it had dora the expolora because it is a twin kids blanket lol, I also bought a t biglots 3x big shirts for like a buck each, and use one on a cage shelf to, this way I shake it out and wash it. I clean my top cage every night and the bottom every other day. My lil girl takes the stuffing out of all her beds, so what I did was take a large shirt, put her bed inside with her stuffing so it isher own little tent. I also give her old ceral boxes to shred and I find thos strips in her tent too.. Napkins, she loves napkins.. She tears them up and them carries them to her area, soo cute to see. She is a little hoarder:)

I finally put the bedding I brought into the Cage w/Nos. It took him a couple of days before he would really touch it! Now, when I look into his hammock, he has all of the bedding on top of him!

I tell you these guys are just TOO cute and funny!:D

I still have to go buy some fleece for my little boy! I am sure he will love it!

Hit the consignment shops or your local flea market - they always have scraps of fleese real cheap. You can also sign up at Jo-ann fabrics online and use thier coupns to buy new stuff cheap. I have used pine bedding for ours - our LTNR's.
