Windows block the majority of UV light from the sun so you need to supplement vitamin D3 in their diet.

Boo balls made with Fox Valley, HHB's, Rat blocks, cod liver oil, etc all contain vitamin D3 and you will be giving them all the "sunlight" they need through these.

You do not need a UV light if you feed the above.

:Welcome I leave all my veggies raw. Be careful with too much squash...I found that mine overdid it and had soft stools for a day. As far as light...I don't believe they get enough sunlight through a window. The glass filters out most of the UV. I don't know where you live so I don't know if opening it is an option. If not..I supplement mine with a UV build. Also, I would make sure they have plenty of Vit D in their diets. Good Luck to you!!! And welcome to the board!:D
