Hello everyone! Been 'viewing' the forums for a few weeks now, I had a hard time registering kept getting 404 Errors. My name is Jessica and I found a SFS at my apartment complex. He has now become known as Conquer. He was attached to the wall in the middle of the day, scared, shaking. I accidentally spooked him and he fell off the ledge onto concrete steps. First I was unsure about what it was, I sat a box on the step and he scurried into it.
I went to the SPCA, they tried telling me it was a sugar glider, but in my research I found it to be a SFS. I took him back to the woods behind the apartment building, left the box there so he could scurry back to him home but after a few hours he still had not left. Nighttime was coming all too fast and I did not want him to end up as predator food so he went in with me for the night. That's where TSB came into our lives. I did a late night run for Pedialyte and started him on that. From descriptions of ages I guessed his age to be about 6-8 weeks old. He allowed me to handle him, checked for any injuries, parasites (his feces was normal as well), and he seemed quite well besides a little bloody nose. The next night I started him on the homemade formula and ordered the FV for him.
I tried to keep handling down to a minimum but he refused that notion. He proceeded, after his feeding, to climb up my arm and right into my shirt (and bra, lol). He was on the homemade formula for about 3-4 days and when the FV came in, he only wanted it for about a week, then turned his nose up at it. He semi enjoys the rodent block, not really though. I think he only eats it because I told him if he didn't he wouldn't get his treats, lol. I'm thinking about making it sweeter? He loves mushrooms, kiwi, avocado, peaches, watermelon, and cantaloupe. He eats 1-2 mealworms everyday bathed in calcium power (ReptiCal). I also supplement it in his water, he loves it (I'm terrified of MBD). Conquer is a very happy, active SFS and is very loved in our home. He's starting to glide from my husband to me and loves playing peek-a-boo!

As for myself, I am a stay at home Mom to my daughter, Rhiannon, our dog Raven, our goldfish and Conquer. I'm currently a student working on my AA, which I will have in the Spring, and then will be moving onto University of Central Florida, Rosen College of Hospitality, next fall. My mom used to work for a pound and has helped a lot with Conquer. She helped me design (with the AT LEAST dimensions I found on here) a cage for him and construct it. It's approx. 72" tall, his actual housing being 60" tall, 26" deep and 32" wide (Need to get photos of it). It's nice and roomy for him and he loves playing in it. Ummm... Not sure what else to say, but to thank you guys for all the early (unknowing) help from your forum and I'm glad I found you guys! :)
