bumps on wild squirrels faces

Many of the wild eastern gray and douglas squirrels that visit my yard have developed small white bumps on their faces. Does anyone know what these bumps are? Are they disease-related or just scarring from squirrel fights? If disease-related, is there anything I can do to help them? The bump on this douglas squirrel is on the tip of his ear.
