Hey All,
I took Nutmeg and his sister, Cinnamon along with Toby to the vet on Friday for a check up because Cinnamon was acting a little off and I wanted to make sure she didn't have a bacterial infection or pinkies in the oven. She did have a slightly swollen too too area, if you know what I mean, due to being in heat. But negative on both counts - no pinkies and no infection. Thankfully!!!!
:ohthedrama Cinnamon has always been a drama queen and does not like to be touched. She literally screams and freaks out before you even get near her when it comes to being handled. Since the vet visit, I have not seen her eat or drink anything. And I have been getting up at all hours of the night to see if I can catch her eating or drinking.
She is hanging out in and around the hammock and if I go near the cage, she let's me have it verbally. So, to reduce the stress on her, I have the cage 1/2 covered on the hammock side 24/7 so she can have privacy and that way I am able to still feed and take care of Nutmeg without pissing her off.
I have offered Cinnamon her favorites and no deal. She won't even groom on Nutmeg, and he sure has tried like crazy to get her to rub his ears and tail like she always used to do. I feel so sorry for him right now. He's really acting lost without his Cinni. to love on him.
I have given her some rescue remedy and am leaving her alone for now. The vet advised not to force feed her right now because she is stressed.
Has anyone else out there had a squirrel who behaved this way? A total drama queen? And if so, what did you do to get them to snap out of it...other than time.
The last time we went to the vet, she pulled a similar stunt, only she still ate and drank - despite being extra vocal and cranky. I don't know what to do.:Cry
