I know how to roast pumpkin seeds for human consumption, with butter/oil and salt, but what do you guys suggest for squirrels (flyers). We cut up a small pie pumpkin last night and it has some good sized seeds in it. Thought I would roast them for Jack, but don't want to add any oils or salt. Anyone?

I just wash them off, spred them on a cookie sheet, and roast them in a slow oven until they are dry and slightly brownish. Then into the freezer with them! And don't forget - after Halloween a lot of the churches, etc., that sold pumpkins will often give them to you or sell them for a very cut rate, just to get rid of them. We hauled home 3 pickup truck loads last year for free - I've STILL got a freezer full of seeds!
