Big Goob needs help

He has stinky poop...he does not have diarreah but I have smelled that smell before. I have some Baytril Big Goob weighs 55 grams and lil goob weighs 43

22.7 mg/ml = .005 CC, but worth checking out what you are fighting. Could be hookworm, coccidea, etc., Can give the Baytril a try for a couple of days and if it doesn't work, get a float.

I agree, a float before starting meds, as it will be impossible to get a true read after. Since he doesn't have diarrhea yet, that is the way I would go. JMHO.

Normal poop does not have a smell....Sinky poop smells like....Well like Cat poop it stinks...I will call my Vet today and see if I can bring in a sample. His poop still is not diarreah but it is very soft

virgo could it be overfeeding? Is it pale beige - white colored? I find when that happens the poop is also stinky.

the poop is yellow. They eat 2cc each. BG is 55g and LG is 43g.

ok definitely not overfeeding, then. I would agree that a fecal analysis would be important here....they should be eating even more, actually.

About 2-2.5g and they are sound asleep but they are HUGE babies. I'm going home on lunch today to pick up a sample then running it to the Vet.

I may have to eat some Crow...got the test results and it is not good. The good Doctor was so shocked by what he saw he contacted the University Of Tennessee and they are requesting a sample sent to them tomorrow morning via Fed Ex....Larvated Round Wrom Eggs...Baylisascaris. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? He could not believe what he was seeing and there is still a chance this may not be the case but I will have to wait a few days to find out.

But here's what I don't understand because my head went blank when he told me this...he said this is NOT supposed to happen. I believe he said you are not supposed to see a live larval egg in the fecal sample

I dropped off the sample this morning and they are supposed to Fed Ex it to UT I'm sure it will be a couple of days before I hear anything

They are fat and happy.:flash3 I did give him one dose of Baytrill before I went to the Doctor and his stinky poop is gone I really don't think it's the "worm" but we shall see....:thinking

Don't worry we always clean up after handling them...I got a call from the Vet today they forgot it was friday and the sample would sit on the truck all weekend so I have to take a new sample down Monday morning...I'm not concerned at this point because I feel good about the outcome:peace
