I have a wonderful squirrel who is about a year and a half now. He was found as a very young pinky (no fur at all) and thanks to the wonderful help and advice of everyone on the Squirrel Board I was able to raise him up to be a healthy and happy squirrel. Currently Im worried about him not receiving enough sunlight for vitamin D production as fall approaches. I'm looking to buy him a UV light, I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions of what brand and type I should get.
Also, I posted up some questions about getting rid of squirrel smell a while ago and I have found the best solution! Its called Natures Miracle, and its an enzyme based cleaner that is safe and non-toxic. My squirrels cage is all metal so I just first wipe it all down with hot water to get rid of the dirt and gunk. Then I put the cleaner in a spary bottle and spray the entire cage, let it sit for 10 minutes, spray again, and let it sit for another ten minutes. Then once again, I wipe down everything with hot water and a cloth. Smell completely gone!!! Hope this helps people and let me know how it works out!
