we are heartbroken. last night Wally was active and climbing all over everything. my husband told me this morning he was lethargic and just laying there. couldn't even lift up his head. He offered him drops of diluted formula throughout the day and kept him warm, he checked on him every 30 minutes. this evening he has passed away. I have no idea what happened. Ive gone over everything and the only thing I can think of his pneumonia. He has touched our hearts and we will always remember him. Part of me feels like a failure because i had his life in my hands and now he is gone. But part of me knows without me he would've died sooner. I know we did everything we could for him.

Thank you so much, we buried him a little while ago. my 3 year old daughter learned about death. Another thing is that I gave him a couple of green acorns, maybe there was something in them that made him sick:dono

I'm so sorry you lost your baby. I know how you feel about being responsible for a life you held in your hands. I just don't know how the rehabbers have the courage to keep doing it. These little ones can be so fragile.

Don't beat yourself up, we've all been through those "woulda coulda shoulda* moments but it's the wrong way to go. Don't beat yourself up, focus rather on the joy he brought into your lives. Keep that joy no one can take it from you.

You did awesome, you gave your all, that was your best and the rest...we cannot ever know, let that rest with precious Wally.

Praying for your peace. Let your little one know Wally was given the best, and it was his time. Make a special marker, write him a tribute, hold only positive beautiful memories. :grouphug

blessings,
Tamar
