Ok, Peanut had runny poo of and on for days as you all know so.... last week we took him and our new visitor to the vet! Peanut had to give a stool sample and if any of you have had to give one, not of you bit your little one, you know that was enough to bring me to tears :shakehead
Anyway, he had a block... a e-coli type thing that the vet said they are meant to have but they can get out of whack as he put it, no worries he said.... $77.00 & Baytril followed! He hates it by the way, try's to rub it off on my shirt as soon as he takes it! Now not having the money to spent I was a little shocked but felt it was well worth it when poo got hard!! Two days later.... soft again!!!! What gives, anyone.....:poke

Our Gizmo's leg is fine, he eats well, some solids too and seems to be around 12-14 weeks old! He is gentle but no a cuddler like Peanut who would rather be on me than anywhere else! When is too late to release? What should he be doing before we let him roam?
We built them the most awsome condo over the weekend, I will sent pic's tomorrow... we had an old closet, used to be for A/C in our living room, took out shelf, left some cut holes into them, hung robes, tree limbs.... hammocks you name it, it got it and it is just .... well a condo! My hubby is very proud of himself :wott We cut a huge opening into the door and had the local window place make a screen to fit in it and wala..... window out/in....
Peanut still has his cage in there and I close the door on him at night, not sure they get along, ignore each other most of the time but Gizmo did seem to try and bite him the other day, of course that was after vet, stress, car.... any advise :dono

omg... too much for me to answer ... i'm not a rehabber etc...

as for baytril ...sometimes they can flavour it for you ...otherwise it's the worst thing you've ever tasted.... but the flavour doesn't hold so well....

strawberry holds better than banana .... when i had rabbits i tasted it the first day i got it ...and by the 5th it tasted awful....(:) no need to swallow it)

but you have so many good questions i'd do another thread with specific question need answers or something in the title....

also contact the vet ...for $77 you also need answers as to why he's got runny poos again.....

When we have to dose our rabbits with Baytril we drop the pill in a bit of pineapple juice and let it soak for 5 minutes or so until it breaks up...then we use a plastic eye dropper and give it to them that way...it hides the taste really well! Not sure if squirrels will nom on pineapple juice...I know ours will eat pretty much anything!
