Ive noticed that with some of the new squamas joining there seems to be a lack of supplies for them as the web sites that we frequent are not well advertised and the shipping can take so long...or funds are tight as we all know how that goes.
When I first got baby Rocky and baby Rhoada...I over ordered supplies. Formula..nipples....syringes. You name it...I've got an over abundance of it! As the babies are starting to wean, I thought it to be a shame that I had all this stuff and it would just sit there till next spring till we had another influx of babies needing help. ( crossing fingers this isnt the case but...we all know its gunna happen)
If ANYONE needs extra syringes...IVE GOT THEM!! I ordered 200 of them from Chris...and there is NO WAY im going to need near that many. These are the good ones...they dont stick and can be reused many times over. I cant part with any nipples as Jude loves to chew through them...but I have tons of syringes to give away. I use the 3 cc ones...I have a few of the one ccs but these guys are so much bigger and got REALLY mad at constant refills. They did just fine with them and never aspirated. I think its all in how you feed them but would NEVER go larger than that!
Just drop me a line...and let me know if you guys need extra...or if a newcomer comes on that is in dire need of them. I will ship cost free anywhere I can.
Thank you to all here at TSB that helped me when I needed it most. Thanks to you guys we have 3 healthy happy fat babies two of which will go on and have a wonderful free life in the trees and make babies of their own. We just want to pay your kindness and good will forward to someone else in need.
And dont worry bout the supplies. I will order more if needed when the time comes. Hubby makes a very good living and we would like to pass some of that on to all the squirrels that need it! And besides....it gives me a reason to shop more!!! LOL:Love_Icon
Blessing to you all

I sent you a private message with my mailing address, I could really use a few syringes. I can of course get syringes, but they are all single time use with the big rubber stoppers. I ordered some from henry's but I only ordered a couple of the 1ml ones and i ordered 5 silicone nipples.
Thanks if you can send me any i really appreciate it!

JS, I don't need anything - I buy stuff so I can give it away, but I just have to tell you that your initial post caused me to howl with laughter, having gotten to *know* you. Um, TWO HUNDRED SYRINGES? Were they on sale? Like a really, really good, 2 for 1 kinda sale that no female could possibly pass up? What sort of terrifying infant squirrel-based mass attack were you envisioning? Like, need a helmet when you walk outside mass?

I'm sorry. Bless you. It just cracked me up!

LMAO. Like I said...my "delusions of grandure" are often played out when I over buy things. You should see me grocery shop!! 4 carts, packed to the brim every two weeks. ( kids said they really like clementines....so I bought 5 cases...hubby said he really likes pickles....so 12 gallon jars of them were purchased.) Im horrible when it comes to the fear of running out! Yes....200.....and 50 nipples!! Good thing I ordered all of those nipples as Jude LOVES to chew through them.
Im glad I bring a smile to your face. You do the same for me dear Lady!! :rotfl
And no...they werent on sale. It was like 30 bucks for 200.

I PMed him...waiting for a response. I feel kinda sorry for him....I dont know too many 15 yr olds that would even bother to take in a squirrel. Kudos to him!!
And because I have a big mouth...(but an even bigger heart )...I have to say this. Lets not forget...we were all and some ( including myself ) STILL are all new to this.....and need alot of support and understanding. Sometimes recognizing the positive things people are doing and letting them know you got their back is the best approach. Alot of negativity out there recently. :thinking
Lets all be supportive of each other no matter how long we have been members!! :Love_Icon

Yeah, I know. I just get so frustrated when people dont listen to sound advice. Or dont even acknowledge it.

But I agree in that its great that he cares enough to even try.

I just hope the little guy gets everything he needs so he can stay healthy and thrive - thats all any of us here want.

Id find out the right dosage first and then PM him about it - I think thats a very good idea. You can never be too careful when cats are involved. You rock j_s!

Agreed! I dont hate anything....but I do have to say that in my dealings in the past with waterfowl rehabbing I dont much care for cats.....or should I say cats that are owned by people who let them wander! Its bad for the cat and any animal in his path!

Very true - I recently got a job at the Animal Emergency Clinic and its really sad how many horribly sick cats come in just because their owners dont keep them indoors.

My first night of training, some guys brought in a little squirrel that was the same age as my girls, but they didnt do any research and basically did everything wrong and the little one was too far gone to save. I got pretty choked up - if it couldve been rehabbed, I wouldve adopted it into my little family in a heartbeat...The poor thing =(

Thats part of the reason I try and push to put as much effort into these guys as possible. That just broke my heart. I wish they had been smarter about it, but at least the guys were nice - they donated $50 and we were able to end its suffering at least =(

:shakehead I just cant stand hearing about a squirrel that passed. So sad! I also looked at his thread and he is right about the baby being older. He looks exactly the same as Jude who is 8-9 weeks. Also...it sounds like he has goats milk available. He should just put him on Jackies recipe.

Jo do you still have some 3 cc syringes. My little girls take way too much formula to do it 1 cc at a time. The are 10 to 11 weeks so I know they can handle the bigger syringes.
