Hi. I had posted a few days ago about a squirrel that was caught by 2 cats. I have a wonderful vet that started baytril injections on Saturday. We only give them every other day. He gives him .08 and said that if he gives that amount we wouldn't have to inject him every day. He received another tonight and the final injection on Wednesday. I do not doubt my vet I just wanted to check with some other rehabbers and see if this sounded right? Again...I am not doubting him...he is wonderful and almost never charges me for any of my wilds! Also, when I order the fox valley should I go with the 32/40 or 20/50? Any help is appreciated.

Oops...should have stated that he is between 5 1/2 - 6 weeks old and weighs 130 grams. He is eating, peeing and pooping fine. Also, there is no punctures or scratches from the cats, we used the baytril just to be safe.

The 20/50 should be adequate for a baby this age. As far as the Baytril injections are concerned it sounds like a five day course. I know little about this but common sense tells me that if there were no breaks in the skin and the baby is healthy and eating there no point in continuing to stick him full of Baytril after wednesday. Again that's purely opinion. I'm sure there are others that know more about this.
