I've been paying extra attention to little Jude. When he arrived he was dragging his leg behind as he walked. I assumed it was because he just hadnt really used either leg since he was in the shelter of the nest. He moves the leg just fine, but his joint, located above the foot is swollen and slightly tilted. My vet wont be back in the office until Mon. I dont trust the vet on call. Anything I can do for him?? Keep the swelling down?? Will it just work itself out??

Forgot to add that he wont put any weight on the foot either.

did you post a video of him running? holding his leg up?
If so I saw that...:grouphug
I have a similar situation here...
vet recommended prednisone every other day...and now we are thinking about 'cold laser treatments'...???{I have not done before, so new to me}
I want him able to be released...if possible.
I need to start a thread for Tubbs, so others can ck it out if we do decide to do the treatment...it's 10 minutes 5 days in a row...:dono
fingers crossed and prayers for both babies:Love_Icon :Love_Icon

I didnt post any videos yet. But I can. Is it possible he will be able to ever use his leg normally? The thought of keeping this guy in a cage forever turns my stomach.

And also adding he seems so behind the others...developmentally that is. He always wants to be snuggled....wont lay flat to eat....cries for me ALOT and wont fall asleep unless he is touching me. He definitely wont run around and AT ALL...sleeps and eats...and cries to be held. He scoots around the nest making wakka wakka sounds. ( this would be his cry Im talking about ) Sounds just like Fozzy bear.

This is what Im talking about. And it doesnt bend very well if at all. Another thing that is bothering me is the way he breathes. He's breathing really fast...and his heart just seems like its racing. Its making me wonder if his joint is really really painful and thats why he breathes this way.

The swelling is right where his foot meets his leg...kinda like our ankle I suppose. It stays in the area around the joint...

I think it might be some kind of infection going on.:thinking You might need some AB. (Baytril) Is his eye still matting up on him? :dono I am sure some others will chime-in hear, in a few. Good Luck. :thumbsup Keep up all the good work. :thumbsup I sure hope this little guy gets a brake soon.:grouphug
Have A good night. Christel
Maybe for tonight some rescue remedy and a rice buddy will make him feel better. He wants to be held maybe for extra comfort. Poor little guy:grouphug
