EMERGENCY IN MARION CO., FL BOT FLY Infestation

I recieved a call from a lady here in Marion county, FL who has a bot fly infestation that is killing her squirrels in her yard. She said that there are several squirrels that can barely walk and it is getting worse year after year.

What can she do to kill the Bot Flies?

What can she do to help the wild squirrels?

They are very skilled at trapping and with help can remove the bot flies.

If we were closer I would try to help, but from what we are finding out.....you just have to get the larve out to stop the cycle. There is no pest control or de worm that can prevent it. We have been selective and trying to get the babies with 3 or more, unless they are having a problem.

:wave123 There is something the Farmers put in a big roller thing. That has a large flap of rubber or something, hanging down about 18 in. or so. The cows walk under it. Then the pest control comes out and off on to the backs of the cows. I just can't remember what the stuff was called. :dono No More Bots Larva. :thumbsup
We use to have go pop them out of the cows when they were milking. :eek: The cows got smart, and all would walk under the roller. :thumbsup If they can catch them within a week the larva is just white and can't hold on.(look like a little maggot)That is when you can squeeze and pop them out.:thumbsup If I can find out what the stuff is called I will post the name.:shakehead Christal
