So I am feeding Spunky about 10cc's every 5-6 hrs, I am using an oral feeding syringe that has a tiny nipple from a puppy nursing bottle.
Most of the time I don't even need to push the plunger, he sucks out all the milk on his own. The only problem is that he always seems to drink it too fast and keeps blowing milk out his nose.
I will turn the syringe up to keep him from drinking so fast and no matter what I do he still drinking it so fast EVERY time he feeds he blows it out his nose.
Is this common, or something I should be concerned about?

Yes, milk through the nose eventually leads to pneumonia and if that happens, you will need meds. Now you have to watch for possible symptoms (clicking from chest, gaping etc).
A puppy bottle is too large. You need 1cc syringe and a very controlled feeding - you should control how he eats, not he. They tend to be rather ravenous and end up taking in too much. So, it's crucial to go very, very slowly when feeding, always maintaining control. And 1cc syringe only!
Please, check out Baby Questions section- there are "stickies" on syringes, feeding techniques, on what to do when milk comes out of their noses, and much, much more!
1cc syringes can be ordered from henrypets.com. For now, you can go to a pharmacy store (e.g. CVS) and tell them that you have a kitten to feed (don't tell them about a squirrel unless you are in a legal state) and need 1cc syringes.
Please check out Baby Questions section, you could even search forums for "feeding a baby", "aspiration/pneumonia" etc to learn more.

I said in my post that I AM using an oral feeding syringe, and ONLY the nipple is from a bottle.
He is 7-8 weeks old, so I think a 1cc syringe would be a bit too small.

3cc max size, 1cc is better. Control the flow - that means, when they get bigger like your little one is, don't depress the plunger - HOLD IT IN so he has no choice but to slow down. If he isn't getting a little mad at you going so slow, you are going too fast!

Yes, you did, but since the size of your syringe wasn't specified and a nipple from a puppy bottle usually tends to be larger than a 1cc syringe that is normally used for feeding, it had to be mentioned.
Syringe size is important, it helps with conrolled feeding a lot.

Milk out the nose is never a good thing! EVER!
I am having issues with the 3 cc...I need to get true O'ring syringes is the 3cc size. They have smoother action and don't jam and spurt like the rubber stopper type.
