she was getting chubby, her back end mostly, and then I started feeding her nut balls with Henry's vitamin mix in them, and she's slimmed down. But, i'm worried about her being a bit too skinny. She doesn't look or act unhealthy. I've seen local squirrels and they look chubbier than her. Her diet is fine. Veggies, vitamin balls, some fruit and nuts for treats, branches and stuff from outside, etc. Should I maybe get some FV or something to fatten her up a bit? She's Super active. She runs circles in my room while I sleep in the morning lol. My head is her springboard.
I'll go take a couple pictures to post...
Thanks,

Need pix but I think the youngsters tend to be pretty slim until they get to be say 9 months or more? How old is the ZuZygirl?
Outdoor squirrels usually have more coat too.

Idk. I've been keeping it pretty chill in my room with the air conditioner.
As for pics, can't find the cord >_<
Lets see..i got her mid may, she was little, but fully furred and could eat solids, so four or five months, I guess?
Side note, how bad is chocolate? She likes anything if I eat it, and she just stole a chocolate chex...eh, make that two. -_- Persistent little munkey...

Pfffffft honey that ain't NUTTIN!!!!
I have Stories!
Mugzi was a big time chocoholic. The big joke was that we couldn't release him because he would mug all the little kids and tear a hole in their bags on Halloween!!! He probably would have held up the Easter bunny too !!!
As far as I can tell it had no effect except he just wanted more
and more

haha. Too cute.
My girl likes Chocolate, bacon, and potato chips. Interspersed between her peanuts. lol She'd probably fly out of a tree onto passing chocolate mouthed children. That is, if she had any interest in being outside.
Haha. I took her out front for a few minutes because there was a wild in the tree, and she wasn't really interested. I got grumbled at to go back inside. She's the Queen Squirrel, the wilds are lowly peasants. "I've had enough of the outside. I'll like to go back to my kingdom and be hand feed more nuts." Sheesh!
I put some peanuts and walnuts in the tree, along with a blackberry. Took a while for the little one to go get them, but I went out and checked a few times, and he'd finally eaten them. And he had blackberry stained cheeks. lol He also had dark brown around his mouth. Like he'd stuck his snout in a dirty hole, but I think it was his markings, not dirt. He was a cutie. My girl has little rosy cheeks! Took me a while to figure it out. I kept thinking she had raspberry stains. lol

Her nose is a bit pointier and his head was a bit broader but I have to say some of the pix, especially the last one look like my Mugzi. I love the first one with that mischievous smile :Love_Icon
Your gang sounds like the critters by the church I go to
I get such a kick out of the squirrels that nest there. They are quite dark but not melanistic, dark gray brown. They have no eye ring, dark noses like you describe, their bellies are not a true white, and their lips are black rimmed. THeir faces and front paws are badly stained from eating all the black walnuts.:jump :jump :jump
we got some babies in the center that I called the Goth litter. Their lips were black.:D
BTW
I would avoid giving chocolate ...but hey...it happens!

I don't give the wilds chocolate. Or her either. She STEALS it!

I didn't give my Fay chocolate either but if she was out and I was eating some she'd do a fly by and steal it! I had to put the chocolate away and only indulge when she wasn't out playing.
Now I'm on a diet so no chocolate in this house grrr. I've only lost 10 pounds in 2 weeks. Sigh...

You go girl!
Me..my sweet tooth is more like a sweet tumor. A tumor that is my whole body. No sugar for me is like no oxygen. And chocolate is my favorite.

I had to lock Mugzi up!!! He would jump up on my (or the kids) shoulder and reach across my face and reach a paw across my face to try to snatch it from my mouth!!!
If he got a paw on then the rest of the squirrel followed. He would just dangle from my hand with the nectar of the Gods in his mouth!.
I found that chocolate is every bit as compelling as nuts to them.
....and of course no one ever GIVES their squirrel chocolate!!! :D

lol nope, we get mugged for it. Hey, is that why his name is Mugzi? lol
I put her in her cage to eat something, and you know what she does? Pancakes on her shelf and gives me THE LOOK. So hard to resist letting her out...
