View Full Version : Good first teething nummies!

Our 4 squirrels have only just had their top teeth come through...you can't even see them yet...I can feel though them if I rub their gums!

We are releasing them, not keeping them.
I was wondering what is a good first teething food for them?
One rehabber suggested shelled nuts, another baby teething biscuits...but since they have no cheek teeth I am worried about giving them something they may choke on if they nibble off too much!
I haven't been able to find rodent blocks here...and as they seem to be doubling in size everytime I see them, I am getting a bit deperate!

Also...two of our boys Webster and Gordy have already opened their eyes...but they aren't even 30 days old yet...Clive and Malli's eyes are still closed...should they be open this soon?

I have also started to limit Gordy's formula...piggin guts is always starving...but he is 132g right now under 30 days old and drinks 10cc! And still looks for more! How much should a squirrel his size/age be drinking?
I know it supposed to be 7% of his body weight...which it is technically...but a fat squirrel drinking 7%...still doesn't seem right!
