The oaks on my property now have baby acorns on them. These are little things the size of a chick pea, and almost completely covered by the acorn cap.
I don't notice the wilds eating them - quite a few have blown down. If course, they have calcium spiked chunky peanut butter on whole wheat bread sandwiches on the other side of the house...
I ask because I bring in 4 or 5 big limbs with leaves, usually maple, for Mister P every few days, replacing them when the leaves get crunchy or when he has stripped all of them off. I could easily bring him some oak branches complete with some of the baby acorns, but I'm not sure if they would pose a problem.
Any ideas?
