I just went to their site and it looks great. I might have to put a little order together.

Hey, they also offer wholesale pricing for those that like to buy in quantity or buy together.

Just a heads up, before you guys go too crazy with your orders I would run it by our diet and nutrition members. Would hate to see you spend a bunch of money that wasn't going to be beneficial to the squirrels.

But I guess you humans could eat them :poke :D

:D They also have Hazel nuts. Make sure, and check, the nutrition spot out, when you pull up, the Black sesame seeds, and compare it to the white. That is what I did, before I placed my order. I do allot of baking so ,if I find, they are not alright, for my squirrels, I will still be able to use them.:jump

In general, the calcium/phosphorous ratio looks good but there's an awful lot of copper & I'm not sure if that's a good thing.

The nutrient amounts given in your link are for 1/4 of a cup; that's a lot of sesame seeds. So they have 1.48 mg copper per 1/4 cup, and the requirement is around 10 mg per months. If you're going to be feeding these as a treat, not a staple every day, I think they're okay, copper-wise.

However, I've never heard of black sesame seeds.... the regular kind are also a good source of calcium.

:wave123 I read up and they are used in Sushi dishes,as well as bake goods, any way I thought because of the calcium strength they might be a better treat instead of the white.mjs

:D My order arrived today I got 20 pounds of hazel nuts ,1 pound of the black sesame seeds and 5 pounds of English walnuts and some organic sesame paste( tahini). The black sesame seeds are very strong in the way they smell and taste.Wow,just awful tasting,I will not be cooking anything with them, unless someone comes up with a heck of a good recipe, they have a bitter, anise taste to them.I gave a little bit to my gray squirrels and they love them ,so next I will be trying Jackie's Nut ball recipe where she rolled the nut balls in sesame seeds.I have tried every way I can to get my Grays and my fliers,to eat the HHB's and they hate them all they do is tare them up and leave them all over the floor.I am at my wits end.I've tried the yogurt thing and peanut butter and fruit, and even went so far as nutella, they all just turn their noses up at them.If this don't work I'm back to the Zupreem blocks.:thinking

If your squirrels are tearing up the HHBs and leaving crumbs all over the floor....well, that's how they EAT them. Seriously. :)
