Thanks for any input you have. I'll take pictures and post them when we are all back home safe and sound. I'm going to Tampa tomorrow to pick up this precious darling and will give it all the love in the world. I have a vet to take it to, just a check up to make sure it's in good health. Then back to loving it some more lol! I'll be gone most of the day as Tampa is 3 hours from me.

Hi Joanne,
What is the story on this little guy? Do you have other flyers? I have never seen a flyer in person. They look amazingly cute! I can't wait to see pictures posted. Do you come down I-4 to get to Tampa? If so, you will probably be coming within 2 miles of my house!
Let us know how your trip goes and PICTURES!

Ok, no finger in the mouth - got it lol.... and I'm not sure how I'm going down to Tampa, probably down 75... my husband is doing the driving. I haven't owned any flyers before but I've been working with other squirrels and critters for over 2 years now. I'm working on getting my rehabbing license. I'm just waiting for one more letter of recommendation and the vet's letter :-) Then I'll be licensed woo hoo!
I'll post pics a.s.a.p.

Joanne, I highly suggest you visit the Flying Squirrel Forum (http://thesquirrelboard.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=3)on our board. Muffin has posted a couple of "stickies" on Flyers and there is lots of good info for everyone. In that same forum is a list of "do's and don'ts" that I made up when I had my flying squirrel. Here is the link (http://thesquirrelboard.com/forums/showthread.php?t=396). Good Luck!

I got the flyer and am home now! No pictures yet as she's sleeping peacefully right now. She poked her head out of her cozy bag and checked out what was going on. I'm going to read up on all the do's and don'ts again - I have done it once but of course I can always read it again to make sure I still remember everything.
I'm very happy. Thank you to Shana who gave the sweetie to me. She also gave me food, bedding like the cozy and a wonderful home made cage that is really fabulous for her!~ Her boyfriend did a GREAT job building it. It even has a shelf up high in it where she likes to sit, and a ladder going up to the shelf. It's ideal for a flyer!
Hugs to all, I'll post pictures when I can :-)

Rule #1... if she has free run of the house, keep the toilet lids down!

Toilet lids will be down - I totally understand that one :-)
I don't know how old she is, she's about the size of a Walnut but has total fur on her. I'm thinking she's full grown? There is a member of TSB that was giving her away. She found the squirrel on the ground and took it to a vet. She thought it was a gray but the vet said you have a Flying squirrel lol. The squirrel took to her boyfriend and let him hold her, and let the girl pet her. They had her about 3 weeks or so. They also have a dog that would bark all night at the squirrel so they couldn't keep her. The boyfriend built a wonderful cage, and they gave that to me too.
Right now she's pretty shy and scared. But I caught her doing flips in her cage. She let me pet her but not pick her up. I gave her a tiny bit of apple and she seemed pleased. She also has other food and water of course, in very tiny dishes.
I'll try to get pictures tomorrow :-)
