I noticed you can buy Baytril online...Do you think this is the same medicine that a Vet prescribes?

That stinks.....I would like to keep some on hand for emergencys but I read the self life is only 28 days for the liquid. So how do you get it when the Vet is closed? When you need it you need it right then. Do you just throw it out every 30 days then get some more?

Baytril comes in injection and pill form. Either can be used. The liquid I find easier to use -measure(taste is beyond terrible). Pills are crushed and added to fluid. Mixed up in dosage form both have a very short shelve life. However, left in original bottles, they last a long time. The pills come in flavors, beef for dogs and fruit for parrots, etc. The injection liquid can be mixed with a tiny bit of frozen Strawberry Daiquiri mix- you can trick the squirrel into thinking it's yummy:D
I don't remember who posted on here about the Daiquiri mix. It isn't my original idea, but an excellent keeper!

If the Baytril is kept in its original bottle, and in the fridge, it will be fine even a year later. However if you put it into syringes with caps it loses effectiveness VERY quickly. (Found this out the hard way and almost lost a baby before I ran to get new Baytril....)
