Acorns

How many acorns would be a safe amount to give daily to my Boo?
I offered him one today and he loved it, but I don't want to give him too many. What would be a "safe" amount?

actually mine only take a tiny bite of each one...
I give them by the handfuls!:)

be careful how you store them...
for longterm, keep in freezer.
do not let them mold up in a baggie..
myco and aflatoxins have been a rather touchy matter at my house recently and I think dry and aired in the open is best!:thumbsup

I kept the 15lbs of acorns from my cousin's yard in an OPEN paper sack, down on the cool floor, for over 4 months. None of them molded and I saw no worms...first time I didn't have that problem. I would give 2 a day to each squirrel.

Just let them air dry, stick them in a bag, and keep them in the freezer. That way you never have to worry about the worms. I feed mine straightt from the freezer....no thawing....a squirrel version of a popsicle.:D

Oh but the worms are the yummiest!!!
I had boxes of acorns and the grubs crawled out and guess what!
Mugzi gobbled em up like chocolate bon bons!!!!
He likes the earwigs from the garden and those are seriously creepy!

Think of bugs as hors d orves
