Hello, and Welcome to TSB :Welcome Your flyer pup seems very tame. I'd have to see more pictures of him, but from his calmness, and his acceptance of you, I would put him at 6 to 8 weeks at the most. He should probably be on formula, just to play it safe. We recommend Fox Valley, which must be ordered online. Meanwhile, feed him some pedialyte for a day or so, and offer him a quarter size piece of PEELED apple and a pecan half broken in two. You can also offer a few plain Cherrios. DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, FEED HIM COW'S MILK OR BABY FORMULA! He will be fine on the pedialyte for now.
For now, keep him in a small cage (bar spacing no more than 1/2". Or you can use a plastic Critter Carrier, or rig up a plastic storage box with plenty of 1/2" holes drilled in the top. (Be sure to use a top for it, as they can jump much better than you think right now.) Give him some fleece, or old tee shirts for bedding - DO NOT use towels or anything else he could get his foot or toes caught in. Put a heating pad, set on low, under HALF of the container, so he can chose how warm he wants to be. Make sure the heating pad DOES NOT have the automatic shut-off feature. I think CVS carries them, and possibly Walgreens and Walmart.
You will need a 1 cc syringe (without needle) to feed him with and some nipples to put on the syringes. Feed him in an upright position - NEVER feed him on his back. And feed very slowly so that he won't aspirate. If you see his food bubbling out of his nose, stop feeding, hold him head down and let all the formula possible drain out of his nose. Then blot him off and finish feeding him, still very slowly, drop by drop. He will need to eat every 3 to 4 hours at this age. but he can sleep through the night without being fed. You will have to stimulate him to pee and poop every time you feed him. Just take a kleenes or cotten ball or q-tip or something like that, dampen it with warm water, and gently pat, flick or rub his genitals until he pees and poops. Some of them go quickly and some you have to keep encouraging for a while.
He will want his soft fleece so that he can burrow under it like a nest - nothing fancy, just a place he can hide and sleep.
I'll fill you in some more tomorrow - right now I have to get to bed.
