Hello, fellow squirrel nuts!

My name is Tiffany Anderson. I am a 31 year old from Memphis, TN. I am new to this forum but not to squirrels. I currently have a sweet-pea of a Southern Flyer named Mina. My husband and I worked for about a year with a wildlife rehabber group locally and we have helped rehabilitate and release many-a squirrel. I also currently have a little chipmunk that was rescued late last fall. He's all better now and ready for release, but I'm keeping him over the winter since it's been so cold out there. Mina is the first flyer I've ever had, though. I've had her for about 2 years now, and she is my constant companion. She is sitting right beside me even as I type this. I am also a mom to some crazy little sugar gliders, and I am convinced they are serial killers in adorable disguises. lol

I am a biology major at the University of Memphis (I want to work in Wildlife conservation or at a zoo eventually), and I currently volunteer at the Memphis Zoo. My husband and I have also been a foster home for roughly 30+ dogs over the past 3 years. We fostered for a local pit bull rescue group here in Memphis, as well as taking in some rescues of our own (rotties, dobermans, pitties, etc). We have 2 boys of our own named Lance and October who are both white german shepherds. They are 11 and 12 years old and are our children. Watching them age has really been hard on us. :( We also have a rescued female boxer who is completely deaf, as well as 5 cats, 1 VERY old ringneck dove, 2 snakes, Mina the Southern Flying Squirrel, 2 sugar gliders, 1 chipmunk (temporary resident), and a whole bunch of fish. Just about all of our babies are rescues. I will post some pictures just as soon as I go read through the thread about the rules on posting pictures.

It's nice to meet everyone! :wave123

Squerly and I also have a German Shepherd, just the normal black and tan and we love him to death.

Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone!! :thankyou

And Amylou, you do live close to me! I am actually from Olive Branch. My whole family lives in either Olive Branch or Horn Lake, so I'm not far from you at all! Maybe we could set up one of those Meetups with some other nearby squirrel lovers sometime! :D

And I am glad to meet some other German Shepherd lovers on here, too! And Suggie parents! I finally have a place where people aren't making fun of me for being an animal nut! LOL

Well, I just finished making a little thumbnail picture of Mina for my signature. Let's see if that worked.

Well, here are a few pictures of some of my babies. I am using the clickable thumbnails from photobucket so that they aren't huge and hard on people with slower internet connections. I hope this is ok. You can just click the picture to make them bigger. If that is not allowed, though, I will take them down.

Here is Mina on cage cleaning day the other day. It was time to pull out all the bedding from the nest box, and pull out all the toys. She was ready to come out and use me for a tree anyway.

I know this isn't the best picture (I tend to use my phone more than my camera for pictures), but I thought it was funny. I was watching the show "Supernatural" on my computer, and she just perched right on my shoulder and looked so in to it! lol

My boys Lance (on the left) and Tobe (on the right). They are 10 and 11 years old here. I took this last year on the one day we had snow.

Here is Tobe with his kittens we had just rescued a few years ago. We had just moved in to that house and had an ugly sheet on the window and a mattress on the floor for the boys. The kittens are Siegfried and Roy.

My sweethearts. Roy is on the left and Siggie is on the right.

Sadly, we lost our Siggie unexpectedly in November 2008. His brother Roy and I both took it very hard. As you can see the brothers were inseparable.

I made a little video for him right after he died.

Oh, and here is our newest edition Lillith snuggled up with her grandpa in the recliner. And yes, her tongue is ALWAYS sticking out. LOL

"Trouble for posting so many." What is this "posting so many" of which you speak. We are unfamiliar with this term here...

What a wonderful family you have! NOBODY will ever whine cause you posted too many pictures. Welcome! (and MORE pictures!) Mina is beautiful. I see a flyer in my future (tho I may have to outsource my hubby if I bring home another squirrel)
