Before I found this wonderful place, I ordered a pound of Zupreem primate blocks for Mister P. He was mostly unimpressed, but I managed to get him to consume some of them if I smeared avocado on them.

But now that I have him eating his HHB's, he likes to change it up a bit with the Zupreem. They have a completely different texture, and I think he likes the change. Are they okay as a change from the ordinary? Everything gets fed with a pile of veggies/fruits - this week it is kale, string beans, cauliflower, sugar snap peas, a couple cranberries (Thanksgiving is a GREAT squirrel time of year - Diamond nuts and cranberries), a grape every day or two, a little carrot, and of COURSE avocado (probably 1.5 teaspoons of avocado a day). He also is still nursing (I am red-faced to admit that my 15 week old boy still insists on his formula twice a day, which MUST be syringe fed (no stinking bowls of formula for HIM!!)

My God, sugar snap peas! It is like watching the wood chipper scene from "Fargo!" Pea guts slinging in all directions and they just disappear faster than I can believe!

Si, diet look okay, and Zupreem allright as a change from HHBs?

I think it's fine.....for what it's worth, my gang likes to switch between their HHB's and Kay-Tee Forti Diet Rat & Mouse blocks. After two or three days they get bored with one or the other, so I switch 'em. :D
oh yeah....and they would eat ten pounds of sugar snap peas APIECE if I let them....

My 2 cents is, yes, that's fine. Any way you can get nutrition into them...

Sugar snap peas are squirrel crack! I love to open a new bag of "Very Veggie" salad mix and let Henry dive through it to find all the pea pods. Funny, no one ever wants a salad from that bag after that. :dono Weird.:D

And at $6.99 a pound I am just thanking God that they don't require Beluga caviar to live...

My parrots love sugar snaps, too, so any way you look at it, I'm on the hook for these worth their weight in gold veggies!

quick question-do you mean the squirrels eat fresh cranberries or dried? I'm thinking you mean fresh, wow that is interesting. Good to know.

My guys like fresh cranberries. They won't eat sugar snap peas though, I have tried them with it for 3 years and no one even nibbled! Fussy foxers. They do get zupreem primate chow, which they like a lot. Some will take the monkey biscuit over a walnut! I have gotten Henry's Healthy blocks and I finally have a taker on those, but for the most part they give me the look like you think I am going to eat that, it's healthy. The little head trauma guy has decided they are pretty tasty though. The others eat them eventually too when everything else is gone, but they would prefer not to, they like the monkey biscuits. I know another rehabber who feeds just primate chow and rodent block to the squirrels she is overwintering and gives 1 walnut per day as well, that's all. I think they should still get fruits and veggies, but they do get more monkey biscuits in the winter because the other stuff freezes and then they won't eat it.
