Does a squirrel's tail grow back?

I saw a dog bite a squirrel's tail. The tail has a
big chunk taken out of it. Will the tail grow back?

They loose hair from their tails really easily, so if it is just hair then it is probably fine and it will grow back.
If skin was torn etc, then if he was handleable I would say get him to a vet for some antibiotics, but he probably isn't so just keep an eye on him and if he seems sluggish or unwell then you could try to catch him to get him some help maybe.
So it really depends on how bad the "chunk" the dog took out was.
