Dragging themselves?

Last night I seen R2 (10 wks) & little Preston (7?wks) both dragging their hind quarters across the floor.
I am going to guess this is still constipation?
This morning when dh was leaving for work I heard him digging in the nut bag I opened 1 eye to see him handing them a big handfull of nuts!!
This I am sure is part of my problem (I mumbled somthing to the effect to give them their kaytee instead)but at this point they are getting watered down formula & I went back to the whipping creme hoping to "get things moving"?
I dont know what else to try a warm bath is out of the question R2 would have a racetrack made of my skin?
Any suggestions? Gosh I never had a problem like this before.
By the way the nuts are getting hidden!:tilt I normally work at night this is like trick or treat for them at 5a.m. No wonder they love him more?

I've currently got four eleven week olds and they've been doing that also.

I forget where exactly but I read that they have glands on their bums and dragging them is just marking their territories, which made me feel a lot better because I thought they might have had worms or something :]

I know thats the case with dogs I am not sure about squirrels?

Dogs mark their territories that way?
I never knew that.

But the site I read it on was definitely talking about squirrels.

no they have some kind of anal sacs that have to be released (discusting) I didnt know squirrels did that to mark teritory thanks!

I have seen my new babies do this, never saw the old ones do it, I noticed mine do it when their cage has just been cleaned out, so I presumed it was marking territory also.

I wish I would have been corrected sooner? Poor guys had to eat their share of roughage to correct their so called constipation?:shakehead :thankyou

My squirrel does that every day, I just assumed that it itched down there. He is definately not constipated, I have the proof!

My 2 cents.....as babies we must stimulate them to encourage them to urinate and defecate. So as they grow older it seems natural to me that they mimic the same stimuli as we instilled in them....as the mother squirrel would have. As for marking their teritorry....it could be....sounds logical. As for worms....I don't think they drag for that reason. Those stinkers are all about smelling things up!!!!:peace
