View Full Version : Cleaning formula from babies coats

Hi guys...Does anyone have a good way of getting formula off the babies face and coat...although I wash them after each feeding , I try to not get them to wet and they are VERY messy ..LOL...so now they have sticky faces and necks and i tried giving them baths, but i really don't want to keep them under water too long...they are now between 8 and 9 weeks old...any good ideas???

I use unscented baby wipes -- they work great. Sometimes with very small babies I will run the wipe under warm water first, because those things have alcohol in them and tend to be very cold out of the box. With older fuzzers they don't seem to mind the coldness and the wipes take care of that formula residue. I buy the grocery store brand -- why pay double? :thumbsup
EDIT: two suggestions for keeping babies cleaner: using a nipple on the syringe tends to keep formula off their mouths & necks,
AND: after filling your syringe, dip it in a cup of warm water to get the formula off the tip -- that's what ends up on your squirrel's cheeks & nose anyway. :)

And one more thing...I don't know if this is true, but I have heard that if the formula stays on the fur, they will loose the fur in that spot, it will come back though, just thought I would pass that along, have you tried a bib??:crazy :crazy :crazy

LOL....is there a site to buy SQUIRREL BIBS???..thanks so much...will try the baby wipes..and i also will try thr nipples..they are not crazy about them but maybe i can coax them!!

WISH I COULD TAKE THE CREDIT...:) :) :) I ACTUALLY THINK IT'S APPLIQUES THAT CAN BE PUT ON THINGS...OPPS, I TRIED TO DELETE THIS PART ABOUT THE APPLIQUES, I THINK THEY ARE BIBS WITH THE APPLIQUE ON ALREADY!!!!
