is there a healthy food mix for wild squirrels? They seem to like the Kaytee Healthy Bits. But, I am not sure if this is sufficient in addition to what they already eat outdoors. Please let me know!

The Healthy Bits are pretty good (get the ones for rats, not for hamsters). They have some extra vitamins and minerals. No more than 2-3 per day per squirrel though. You could also try them on the KayTee Forti-Diet. If they'll eat that you can feed it freely.

I put out a bunch of the kaytee fortidiet a while back and they refused to touch it! Plus, it rains a lot here and the food tends to get really mushy. Is there a heartier brand/type of food that I can safely feed them?
