I just got 4 babies that have been in a truck with the heat on all day. Some guys doing tree work destroyed the nest by accident, they would have not taken the tree down , had they seen the nest. One of the tree guys took them home , as he knows my son and knows I've had babies before. I picked them up and got heat pads in a small crate and they are nice and warm. I have the pedylite here and I'm wondering what the amount is for the first few feedings....?? They look to me to be about 3 weeks old, slight fuzzy hair, eyes closed....Is it the 2 first feedings of pedylite, then esbilac after? They look good, but haven't eaten today as these guys had them all day.

Any info...greatly appreciated....

I would do the first few feeding of just pedialyte, then alternate ped. & esbilac.
My babies are 4 weeks and drinking roughly 4cc at a time, if that helps you?
If they are on the thin side I would do 2 cc to start?
Congratulations and I cant wait to see pictures!

I'd give them nothing but Pedialyte for the first 24 hours, especially if they are dehydrated. Then introduce diluted formula. I usually start with a little less than half strength for two or three feedings and build up to full strength. At three weeks, I'm guessing they probably weigh around 30-40 grams, so that would work out to be 1.5 - 2 ccs per feeding, but the best thing to do would be weigh them with a gram scale and give them 5% of whatever their actual body weight every three hours and be sure to stimulate their little pee pees and poo poos after each feeding. Good luck!

My scale is a kitchen ozs up to 4 lbs...does any one know what exactly that formula is...grams to ozs??
they all just had a bit of pedylite...about 2 ml, which if I remember is like equal to 2 cc? None pooped at all....But I just wanted them to get a little something in their bellys, and I suspect they'll poop next time...

ml. & cc are the same thing!

1 gram = 0.0352739619 ounces

Here's a real easy calculator to use.
