Hi, I am rehabbing a baby southern flying squirrel for about 2 weeks. He just opened his eyes yesterday and has been doing really well. About 2 days ago I noticed a bump on his thigh kind of like a pimple about the size of a pea. When you squeeze a little puss comes out. He also has same thing on his back/spine. I have been keeping him clean and applying neosporin. Any ideas of what it could be?

Hi Sammymom!!
Bot flys are very common and there are several posts and pic of these pest on TSB.
On the main page at the top is a "search" option. Just type in bot fly and then hit enter. All the threads should pop up and you can get all the details there. Bot flys are nasty and lay thier egg in a host mammal, to where the larva actually live in the pea sized bump until they hatch out. Very gross and nasty buggers, once the larva has hatched the wound will close up and the fur grows back. I hope you find all the answers on the search option.:peace
