awwww....poor old dude. How wonderful that he has lived to such a ripe old age, a credit to his humans. Try coconut -- it has been known to give "the runs" to both humans and squirrels. :D

aww the poor little darling God Bless him and you for giving him a good home and love all these years. I was wondering if warm water to the belly would help? or him pancake on a warm hot water bottle? Your little fur baby will be in my prayers big hugs to him:grouphug

i know i'm way off base here, considering i don't have a clue about squirrel biology .. but i'm thinking a water enema with an ear syringe ... because it's flexible - i hope, dear God, no chance of perforation.

but maybe a little bit of water - not hot, not cold - might help lubricate the mass from the other end and maybe quicker than trying things from the mouth, especially if the stool is dry at the rectum end.

it seems like an emergency to me. Please check with others before doing - as i said, i don't have a clue.

I'd also like to suggest flax seed grounded - in water and apple sauce mix - as a slurry - because the flax lubricates as it goes along the bowel wall, so it really should just slip right out in one piece ...but i'd guess it would also cause gas, until he is used to it ... and that can be dangerous, ... so again, simethicone baby drops in the proper dosage might help.

Until he gets moving properly again though i'd think carefully about the flax, i don't like the idea of gas and constipation at the same time... i'd hate for him to get bloat.

as i said, i don't know a thing about squirrels so please just take this as suggestions and ask others.

all the best. :Love_Icon

Pumpkin...{not pie filling though, as it has other ingredients} of any kind...in the can, baby food, fresh. It has always workrd when nothing else has.

Can you give him a warm rice buddy? Old folks and squirrels that don't feel well like warm spots. Old cats find a warm place to lie in all day, like in the middle of the range or in a sunny window.. Is he getting enough vitamin K (green leafies?) That's supposed to be good for bleeding.

I've found that melons of ANY kind tend to get things a'movin' in that department....! watermelon especially!

A 2 hour nose bleed is alarming. Sounds like he might be having problems clotting. Any chance he got into rat bait? Is he coughing? Any bruising anywhere? Clotting times can also be effected with liver disease. Do his mucous membranes, toes or skin on the inside of his ears have a yellow tone at all? There are lots of other causes for clotting defects too, I'm not sure what is common in squirrels though. Do you have a vet? A vet can do a quick test to see if his clotting times are normal. Sorry, I don't mean to alarm you but I thought you should be aware.
