:wave123 Hi my sadie is acting real strange,:multi first Im the one who takes care:crybaby and plays with them completely ok, well my daughter came upstairs to see sadie, she is 21 my daughter, so any way sadie was out playing :wahoo and I was cleaning out the bed box and picking up old food,:yuck well then sadie jumped back in the cage and on top of her bed box and would not come out and play,:wahoo we would coax her but she was so protective of her bed,:nono she went back in, I thought it was because my daughter seemed strange, but sadie did it again tonight and it was just me, of course I did the same cleaning rutein as last night, and all she wants to do is eat,:Drink she would rather eat than play, :shakehead this is not like her. So what do you think.:thinking Should I not bring fresh food till after play time?

Sounds like someone's a little 'pissy' that momma messed with her bed! :rotfl Do you remove any stashes that she had? If she had some in there, she might just be protecting it. JMHO :D

I agree with both of you I think she does not like me messin with their bed, Sadie has always been the nest maker between the 2 of them, I will be a good mommie and stop messin with her "stuff".:thankyou yes they have old squirrel blocks in there I guess I just leave them in there right????

Is there anyway....your daughter can keep her busy...play with her..take her into the other room....
WHile you DO...YOUR Mommy duties?
That would annoy me...that I couldnt get into Bean's cage when I need or want to...
She's a stinker...but..again....she's a girl.....she cant help it....:D
That's what I usually...end up saying about....my little STINKER pants...

I don't think leaving it in there is a good idea. If they have 'stashes', they will be even more protective & 'moody' about their space. (You are keeping them, right? Not releasing?) I don't let Teddy hoard anything. If I poke my finger into his current nest (and he has 3 different ones - LOL) and find anything, I take it out. If it's an unopened nut, I just set it in the bowl in the bottom of his cage. If it's a food product, (and not nasty-looking), I'll do the same. If it is nasty, I'll take it right out & throw it away. Down here (FL) no matter what we do, bugs get into the house & I don't want his sleeping area to be their home, too.
But, that's just what I do. Good luck & give your babies kisses for me! :Love_Icon
BTW - I tend to clean Teddy's house & cage during the day when he's a little sleepy. I put him in my shirt & let him go to sleep....then clean house. :)

You know what I could that, I could put them in my shirt and then clean their box an cage in the morning. But it sounds like I do the same as you, because fl has bugs just waitin to get in. I will try it in the mornin and let you know.

Tonight, friday, sadie was better I did not mess with their box and I just picked up stuff on the bottom of the cage and she came out & played, she would sit on my arm and watch as I put my arm in the cage to get stuff she would watch and they run off and play, she kept one eye on me the whole time, so sat morning Im going to get my hubby to play with them or I will put them in my shirt. But see sadie pops out every once in a while to see what im doing she is so smart. :thankyou for all the advise, I like to see what other people think.

I have to do my cleaning at night with a flashlight. Otherwise my little demon Adam would tear my arm off and beat me with it.:shakehead Just picture the squirrel on Ice Age, that's my Adam he hords everything.:nono He has 2 nesting boxes and rotates from one to the other. So I clear out the unoccupied one.:rotfl Next day is always attitude time.:shakehead
I keep a flash light in their room too, I use it to retrieve things or put things in their cage with out them jumping out of the cage, of course its not like they cant see at night you know, lol
