Sharon, I am so very sorry that you are having to go through this. It is heart wrenching and more than most people can take. However, you are not most people. You are strong and your love for these guys is stronger than the pain you feel for them. God does have a plan and I think he is helping you on the sidelines. Prayers go out to all of you babies and especially Dumbo.

Dear Sharon—I am so very sorry that you are going through this, it must be horrific for you to deal with, but remember the Lord never puts on us more than we can handle. You are a strong woman, and are doing everything above and beyond what many, if not most people would ever imagine or understand to do.
Dumbo is beautiful, absolutely the most beautiful squirrel and sounds so unique and special. She has a special purpose, one in which we humans do not fully understand, but a purpose nonetheless. I will pray now for you, for Dumbo and with you.
O good Jesus, I accept willingly this sickness and trial which it has pleased You to lay upon Dumbo and myself. I confide all Dumbo's pains to Your Sacred Heart, and beg You to unite them with Your bitter sufferings, and thus perfect them by making them Your own.
Since I cannot render You the praise due to You because of the multitude of sorrows and afflictions, I ask You to praise God the Father for all Dumbo suffers, with the same tribute of praise You offered Him when your agony on the Cross was at its height.
As You thanked Him with all the powers of Your soul for all the sufferings and injustice which He willed You should endure, so, I pray You, give Him thanks for My trials, for Dumbos trials. Offer Dumbo’s sufferings, physical and emotional, to Him together with Your most holy pains to His eternal honor and glory. Amen.

Thank you all for your prayers and kind words. Dumbo was out yesterday, she actually ran down the tree and was eating at the main dish. She filled up on plenty of avacado, nuts and seeds... and lots of water. She is still really poxy!, but moving better, breathing better and eating better. She does still have some bad areas on her feet, however, I am hoping she has not lost the right eye. I have some really good pics of her where you can barely see her eye behind the black lumps, so hopefully once the scabs fall off , she will still have her eyesight. We had terrible rain storms last night, and it has been overcast and more rain tonight. I haven't seen her today, unless I missed her coming down to eat while I was out shopping. I took some videos of her yesterday , because she was so much more active. She reminds me of my Patches! I will send you all some pics soon. Sharon:thankyou

Oh, squirrelcharmer, what a roller coaster! I'm just catching up with Dumbo's last pictures -- even worse and more heartbreaking to see than to have heard about. :Love_Icon :Love_Icon But then .... such a positive report, that she is feeling better enough to run and eat, and breathing better. :thumbsup :crazy :crazy I SO hope that continues, that she is over the "hump" and starting to recover! Keep doing what you are doing! :bowdown :bowdown
Continue to keep an eye on her breathing. :grouphug

I have some sad news. I have not seen Dumbo in 3 days. I have looked everywhere for her and been outside all day today, no signs of her. This is the 3rd day. I have pictures of her on the 23rd, plus video, but then I haven't seen her since. I pray nothing bad has happened to her and she shows up soon. This is what happened before, but when she returned she was so bad, she needs to be here everyday to get her food and treatments. I will let you know if I see her tomorrow. Sharon

Posting for Sharon.
Here are the last pics I took of her on the 23rd. I pray she is ok and will come back, but if not, I know in my heart she has probably gone to sleep in her nest and God took her quietly and peacefully. I have to believe that! I still hope she shows up again. Thank you all for your support.
The more I look at her pictures, the more I have noticed she looked pregnant, like Spot did. Do you think she could have had babies and just be up in a nest with them for awhile. I know Spot did that for a few days? Just asking. Thanks, Sharon

Oh you poor thing...She could have had babies if you think she was pregnant. I know with mine they would stay away for a couple of days after giving birth...Wherever she is, whether here on earth, or with the Lord, please know that you were so instrumental in helping her be where she is meant to be now...I don't know how you can do this, it is the saddest looking thing I have seen. If she doesn't came back we can hope that she died in a restful place and is now at peace and free of pain. If she comes back I know you will continue to love and care for her. Thank God she had/has you in her life...You're her angel:Love_Icon :Love_Icon :Love_Icon

I just finished reading this entire thread and I don't know if I can express how I feel about such beautiful, compassionate people like you, Sharon and Steve. All your beloved squirrels past, present, and future are so blessed to be living near you. Thank you from the depths of my heart for all you have done and are doing for these sweet little ones.
And to everyone else on the TSB and elsewhere who has helped out with Sharon and Steve's squirrels: I admire and greatly respect you for going out of your way to care so much and help as best you can.

I just looked at the latest post of Dumbo’s pictures from the 23rd—Dumbo is still the most beautiful little squirrel. It is awful to know that she is in pain and suffering, but a Blessing to know that you are with her to help her. I pray she will return to continue her treatment to get well. I hope Dumbo will be another living Miracle. My prayers are with you.

I am still waiting on my baytril and metcam, yesterday I found Dumbo curled up under my ivy plant in my garden by his water bowl, dead. He just couldn't beat the infection. Today coming home from school I saw my 4 healthy ones, plus Spot was sitting under my banana tree, but looked awful, one eye is almost covered totally in pox, other is all red and open sores, she has lost so much weight , fur on her body and tail are thinning bad. Looks like she is also having the breathing problems. this is the fastest I have seen it take 4 squirrels of mine to die. I am trying everything I can. Sharon

Sad news again, came home and saw my little Spot curled up under her favorite tree dead from the pox and pnemonia, I have one sick one left, but he is doing very well, alot of the scabs have fallen off his face and nose and he is very active and healthy. Guess his meds kicked in fast. All my others are happy and healthy. Just been very depressing in the past month to lose 5 of my squirrels to this nasty disease.

It was priority in flat rate package...
and they did open it and take out two tablets...
I am not sure if it looked tampered with or if they notified the reciever about it...but they were missing and I know I sent them for sure!
...they actually opened a pill bottle and removed the two plain tablets and left the capstar in it's foil push out packs in the pill container...
I sent them to a member here...it was the first time I ever had issues with PO.
Once I sent a pkg and it never arrived...when I contacted PO, they said if it was a liquid and it leaked, they pitched it without notification...it was never found.
Now I really package liquids well.
I also have started using tracking, less than an dollar extra...
I sent a pkg to canada with FED Ex...customes did open and remove an item or two, can't remember what...:thinking
but that was almost expected...
I have sent stuff to canada using the USPO and it made it... thru customs too...
