One of my girls is making a sound that I've never heard, she sounds like a bird squawking and appears nervous. When I take her out of her cage she loves to be held but she's running around my room like she's looking for something. Can someone please tell me what this means?

Thanks. I was scared something was wrong with her. Of the three she is the calmest and loves to be held. I hear them bark and coo all the time. I feel better now. Thanks soooooo much.

Why was it only one of them that was making the warning sound? Why wouldn't all three of them make that sound?

Thanks for your quick reply it worried me to hear something new and the way she was acting was odd for her. Kiwi is the calmest girl I have and loves to be held but she didn't want to be held while she was making that sound. She looked like she was looking for something. Thanks again.

With my backyard friends, it is usually one of the males that has patrol duty if the alert must be sounded for an extended time. He will actually run over from anmother part of the yard to take up and keep up the alarm call when one of the cats is around, even if someone else squawked it up first. It's like his job, seems to me.
However, the females will continue the alarm too, if it is in their territory. Usually just one of the squirrels keeps it up until the danger has receded.
