Hi, all! I cut up this squash last night & all of the critters love it!! Anyone know what kind it is? (There was no sign at the produce market. :crazy )

Also, can all squash seeds be roasted & given to the fuzzers? (Now, of course, I'm not going to separate & roast seeds from zucchini or yellow squash! LOL!!) If not, which ones should be avoided?

I was thinking about roasting these. They look like pumpkin seeds, just a little more plump.

Last question.....can our babies have the seeds unroasted?

So, any input? :thankyou

I got one once that looked a lot like that. I thing it was called a calypso squash.

I amay be wrong. My remember is not so good these days.:D

They will eat them raw or roasted - they are just easier to freeze for later if they are roasted. We sometimes take the small pie pumpkins and split them and put them in the cages for the squirrels. what is left goes to the guinea pigs.

Yes, both are fine for them, it would just be next to impossible to separate the seeds! They have seeds sort of like cucumbers - all built in together.
