Just earlier i came to feed the baby flying squirrel and she was bloated.....I rubbed her belly submerged in warm water, but she's been acting weak all day. I have a fear she could be sick or something. I am definitely trying my hardest.
I feed her 1 ml every 3 hours & she weighs about 22 grams.
Please help, call my cell if needed.

I assume you are using Esbilac formula.

I am not familiar with flyers. I am sure someone will be here soon who is but for now I thougth reading this thread may help.

she has diarhea. The stomach seems deformed, it has a bluish spot on one side and the other is just a lump. What could that be?
I want to give her to a rehaber, and wait until she's a bit older to get her back.

isn't muffinsquirrel the one who was going to take the other one before?

Blueish spot sounds like internal injury. I'm not 100% so wait for confirmation. If the flyer is bloated they recommend baby simethicone drops on top of the warm soaks and gentle massages.

Yes, what Gamma said. Please let muffinsquirrel care for this poor little squirrel.

How are the other 2 doing? I've still been concerned about them, too, especially the little male.

Not to be rude, but Chrissy you have two choices: keep the flyer, and it'll die...or give it to muffinsquirrel and it'll live.

It's your choice, and I hope you make the right one, but it's as simple as that. This isn't something you can fix.

I second that !!!! This squirrel need help and you don't have the experience the squirrel needs....(LOVE OR GOOD INTENTIONS CAN"T SAVE A SICK SQUIRREL).....you will learn in time but for now....get this squirrel to Muffin....what is stopping you ?????

Chrissy, my dear, I KNOW you have the best intentions for them, I know that. I know you'd never intentionally harm one of them, BUT...you are going to literally love them to death.

They are fragile, and an EXPERIENCED rehabber needs to take them.

Part of being a parent, even a pet parent, is knowing when to seek the care of another, and knowing when to let go...

I'm not a doctor, and I'd never try to treat cholera or any other disease on my own. I'd seek help, and take them to someone who really knows what they're doing, not just going by what a website tells them.

If you love them you'll want them to have only the best care. Not home treatments. You're going to love them to death--SERIOUSLY if you don't get them to muffinsquirrel in a hurry.

If you're lucky, they'll live to see another day...but this is NOT THE TIME TO BE SELFISH OF YOUR OWN WANTS AND NEEDS!

Part of being a parent is sacrificing you own wants and needs for the sake of your children/babies/pets!

and NOW is the time for you to step up and put aside your own desires for their sake.

I'll step off my :soapbox now....

Chrissy ~ We all know that you want the very best possible outcome for your baby. You took a step in the right direction in the first place by finding TSB to seek out help. You took a second step by handing them over to someone that had experience. Now, you've got one of the babies back and he/she needs you to take another step....please, flyers are sooooo fragile. I've only had my Teddy for 4 months & if I lived near MuffinSq or another very experienced flyer breeder/rehabber, I would be on their doorstep in a flash if my baby even acted not right. We are not trying to be mean. We are only asking that you take advantage of the help being offerred from someone with more knowledge/experience. For any squirrel....life is fragile, because, just like a baby, they can't tell us what is wrong. So, we look to others with experience. If you had a human baby with a bloated & bruised belly....would you just 'wait & see' or would you be calling your doctor/mother/sibling or anyone else that you could find for help? This is the same thing. This little fuzzer is having some kind of problem. MuffinSq has been raising/rehabbing/releasing flyers for years. She loves them like they are her own children and will do everything that can be done to help your baby.

I'm begging you, Chrissy, from one newbie human owned by a flyer to another....Please, meet MuffinSquirrel. She can help you & your baby to have a happy life together if possible.

No offense, Chrissy, but the bloating, hardness, and bruising you mentioned earlier indicate a more serious problem that won't just go away overnight after a soak and massage. You should be very concerned, and maintain that concern, until this baby is actually out of the woods. And the only people who will be able to tell when the worrying can stop are an experienced rehabber and a vet with experience treating flyers.

There have already been several times that you posted, sounding quite frantic, and describing very serious symptoms, only to come back a short while later and report that everything was ok. And then the cycle would repeat.

If I had been in your position, I would have given all three to muffinsquirrel immediately. And I would not have been trying to treat symptoms I did not understand without getting express instructions from the experienced posters on this board.

I have to say, I am extremely concerned now about the likelihood of any of those 3 flyer babies surviving much longer.

I'm sure I sound pretty mean right now, but I think this situation calls for a bit of "tough love." You're at a crossroads right now, Chrissy. You can do right by those babies (yes, all three) and take them to muffinsquirrel, or you can continue to kill them with love. Please don't be selfish. Do the right thing.
