I'm getting ready to whip up a couple more batches of block to see me through the week. Looking at the recipe I noticed that it calls for 2000 mg of vitamin D. My bottle measures vitamin D in International Units. When I tried to find a conversion, all I could find is that 1 IU of vitamin D equals .025 micrograms (ug) and that vitamin D is measured in IU rather than mg. I don't want to overdose them on vitamin D. Can you clarify 4s? Multiplying enough pills at 1000 IUs each to make up 2000 mgs has to be too much D. Thank you! I hope you're around--the oven is warming . . .

not sure if this will help you but there are 1000µg in 1mg, and there are 1000mL in 1L, so

µg/mL = mg/L

PB, I checked back to the old recipe and it called for 16 calcium tablets with 125IU of Vitamin D. 16 times 125 is 2000IU. So I think she means 2000IU of Vit. D just like the old recipe, but someone can correct me if I am wrong! Good luck, I will be making a new batch sometime this week. I really should do it today, I usually make them on Sunday, while watching the game, go Dolphins, go Vikings!:thumbsup

Okay, thanks! I'm sure it has to be IU rather than mg, but I just wanted to make certain, and thank you too whopoop, but too much math give me headaches.

Hey guys....sorry, I WAS in the kitchen....making 24 batches of blocks.

The Vitamin D is 2,000 IU. I see that when I re-did the recipe I accidentally typed "mg" there. Vit D is rarely sold in mgs, thank goodness.

Will correct that immediately.
