Penny received her Squirrel Blocks from 4S a few days ago and absolutely loves them! Here she is having one a few minutes ago. These were made smaller than usual because Penny is a flyer.

:jump She is sooooo cute, I just wish we had them up here, I've never seen one in person.
Has anyone seen the movie ELF with Will Ferrell? The scene where he wants to hug the raccoon, well that's what I want to do to her without the biting! :jump

Penny's a southern flying squirrel, but you probably have nothern flying squirrels around without realizing it--they're nocturnal.

There are even a few tiny pockets of southern flying squirrels in eastern Canada.

I just checked, I'm close but no cigar, I'm a tiny bit more to the east of the sparse dots. :)

Aww, too bad. :( What about northern flyers?

BTW, I love eastern Canada. DH & I honeymooned in Nova Scotia and it's gorgeous. (And yes, I know Quebec isn't in NS. ;) )

ya, it's nice but it's stinkin' cold most of the year:D
I have a friend in Sugarland down your way, but that's probably the same as your NS to Quebec ratio since TX is so darn big!:D

One of my cousins lives in Sugarland. It's about 6 hours from me. LOL

Well, here's the video.

This is actually block number 2, but I'm going to be cutting back to one block per day, I think.

My 2 year old, Lilia, is the one who actually gives Penny the block. And then at the end of the video, Lili gets upset because my 13 year old starts trying to fix her hair and Lili doesn't want to be distracted from Penny. ;)

That is so precious.:Love_Icon I can't decide who is cuter, your squirrel or your human child! The size of the block looks pretty good.

Aww, thanks. I think all 3 of my girls (including the 13yo) are adorably cute. :)

Tonight is the first time Penny didn't finish both blocks, so I think I'm going to cut her back to one.

I'm probably saying something so darn obvious you flyer folk will roll your eyes at me :shakehead, but I just noticed how flyers' tails are more like....feathers! The way the hairs grow, and the shape, the tail actually looks like a large turkey feather. All for flight purposes, I'm sure. What wonderful little critters they are. :Love_Icon

My flyers LOVE 4S blocks too! You now have a regular customer 4S :D. Yep- their tails are just like feathers, and very, very light!

I have some pics of mine that i rasied...I still need to put those up!!!

Yep, they have flat, feather-like tails. I was a bit taken aback when I first saw Penny. I had never realized, from pics here on the boards, that they didn't have fluffy tails like other squirrels. :)

What awesome video! Glad Penny loves the blocks - they are very popular at my house, too. You know, when you warm them in the microwave, they are even tasty for people! :rotfl (or so I've been told!)

PHIL!!!!!!!!!! We do need those pics you mentioned!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:poke
