This weekend my hubby and i will be setting off 2 flea bombs in our home. 1 will be in our bedroom where Elissa is kept and 1 in our living room. Now my questions is would it be ok if i put her in my sons room with the door closed and the bottom blocked off with a towel. If not trust me i will remove her but i was just wondering:thinking . Thank you and i know this might sound like a dumb question But i figure its never hurts to ask.

I would not take any chances. I would remove her.
Better safe than sorry.

What's a flea bomb?

There's no way I'd leave an animal in the house if I was flea-bombing, even with towels at the bottom of the door.

It states in this article, to even remove their cages, bedding and food to prevent the procuct from landing on it and contaminating it.
The insecticide contains propoxur, diazinon and carbaryl, which are nerve poisons.

Personally, I'd look into some less toxic methods of flea eradication. After all, do you really want to be exposed to that stuff yourselves? I agree, I would take EVERY precaution for your squirrel, and yourselves, if you go the chemical route.

About 20 years ago I had a horrendous flea situation in another apartment I rented. The only thing that worked was Zodiac's flea & tick spray, which is safe for cats and dogs (I had both) and which actually kills the eggs in your carpets as well as the fleas themselves. I'd try that before I tried a bomb, which goes all over your dishes and utensils and is, after all, a nerve gas! My ex sister-in-law bombed her home once and her cat was severely neurologically impaired after that...they had to put her down.

I was hopig to look for something that wasnt so toxic as a bomb is. I have never had this problem with fleas before and now they are driving us and my babies crazy. I was very worried that Elissa would get fleas on her too. I will try he Zodiac flea and tick spray. Thank you Island Rehabber
