I just got a lil boy in, eyes still closed. A cat momma carried him like a kitten, put
him in between her babies and he actually drank from her.

He does have a few puncture wounds and sores around his genitals. He is also
dehydrated..was 4 hours in the animal control truck. I warmed him up and he
drank 1.5 cc Pedialyte with Amoxicillin.

Anything else I should do other than treating the wounds? He's the biggest baby
I had so far and he is alert.

Here is Ray:

I think it sounds like you're doing all the right things. Antibiotics, rehydration, wound treatment. Just be sure to get them cleaned out really well and put some neosporin on 'em.

He's beautiful...even though he's camera shy. :D

I hope you told those animal control people that four hours is WAY too long to be keeping an injured or orphaned infant squirrel!

And, for once, I really like a cat! :thumbsup

Keep us posted on his progress.

He weighs exactly 3 ounces.

Here are some better pictures..see these sores on and around his genitals?
I suppose the cat momma tried to stimulate him maybe?

My vet said 0.22 cc twice a day.

It's the 50 mg Amoxil Pediatric powder that needs to be mixed with water.

:dono sorry..but need to add...cat bites in the lower quadrant do not equal being carried like a kitten. Please keep up the meds as recommended!!:thumbsup

He didn't make it. I sat with him all night. He was so dehydrated. I did the tent
test and his skin was still the same after 5 minutes. Sub q didn't help either, was
too late.

I don't know what the animal cops were thinking! 4 hours in that truck in 104 F!
I thought they are supposed to prevent that from happening...:madd .

I'm sorry, it's so hard to lose them. Thank goodness you were there.
