It's me, Rachel, agian, and I need a bit of advice on treating ringworm fungi on a cat. Yes, this is a cat not a squirrel, but I figured (seeing as she is no bigger than a squirrel) that you guys might know a way I can treat her that won't make her sick or worsen the infection.

The fungal infection has spread over one side of her tiny face and I need something I can use that won't hurt if it is ingested or if it gets into her eyes.

I know how to treat it on myself, but I'm using a sulfuride antibiotic that I know will make her sick and burn her eyes. So far, I've done nothing to treat her, because I've not been sure as to how.

My suggestion would be to go to your local feed store... they usually have topical medications and such which are safe to use around faces... I wouldn't use any ointment/meds intended for human use...

I would also invest in one of those collars to put around kitties neck to keep him/her from scratching/licking the ointment.

I know that when I had one lamb that got a ringworm they ALL got ringworm... so keep all of your other animals and squirrels away from the ringworm Kitty... from personal experience.

Hi I'm a vet tech, You can use any miconazole cream. Easy to find in a drug store is Monistat 1 for vaginal yeast infections, this works well on faces. Athletes foot powder works for the body but dont put that on face. none will hurt the kitten even if she licks it. Basically look for any antifungal containing Miconazole, the higher the percentage the better.
I assume you know its extremely contagious for a few weeks. keep kitty . quarantined.
Should the ringworm spread to the squirrels I do not know if miconazole is safe on them so do not use it without consulting a vet or board member who knows.
