I've seen them sold as edible, but that was for people, not squirrels. Plus you have to worry about pesticides and whatnot.

From what I read pertaining to pansies and sugar gliders it causes minor toxicity What it reads is: ingestion may cause some minor symptoms such as rash, vomiting or diarrhea. Ingestion of small amounts may not cause any symptoms at all.
