Does anyone know if Lilac branches are safe for squirrels? My dad was trimming the bushes and I gathered up a bunch of the branches with the leaves still on them and have them sitting near the squirrel cage. I wanted to make sure they are safe for squirrels before I put them in with them though.
Grey squirrels will strip the bark from the lilac wood to line their dreys with. My sister is always complaining to me about this. her poor bushes.:shakehead As far as I know Lilac is a safe wood.
