I started a new thread to make sure this did not get over looked, the little girl I rescued went to super active last night to barely moving this morning all in about 4 1/2 hours. Last night she was crawling all over me eating vigorously peeing and pooping just fine, now she is very lethargic. Some time in the night she moved from the warm side of the box to the cold side that is not in contact with the heating pad, when I picked her up to feed her this morning she did what I can only describe as a stretching/arching motion that didn't look very comfortable. Is this a seizure? Now she wont eat and I am very concerned...

Sounds like she is cold and her blood sugar has dropped. I would get her back on heat first. then get some "sugar" into her. Karo is my first choice but honey or syrup will work too. I would place a little on my finger and rub it into her gums. Or dilute 1:1 with warm water and I would feed her about a cc. If she isn't better in about a 1/2 hour I would repeat.

I would also check the stomach for bloat. The stretching and arcing is a sign of bloat and constipation in many animals.

How is she doing this afternoon?? :dono I hope better, but am worried about her since moving off the heat is not usually a good sign.

Here is a thread with info on how to check for bloating, and what to do if you find it: http://thesquirrelboard.com/forums/showthread.php?t=12487&highlight=Bloat

If you think she is bloated, stop giving her formula until it is resolved.

BUT: The steps to take for low blood sugar and for bloat are a bit opposite, so it would be best if you tell us a little more what is going on with her since this morning so you go in the right direction. :)

Sorry for the lapse...she pulled through after 2 nights of no responsiveness she is up and lively as ever. Almost a full grown squirrell now. I'll be sure to post some pics of her soon.

btw...she has been renamed, Tweak.

I'm posting a couple of questions about her in a different forum, please look.
