Please let us know what the nearest town or city is to you -- we may have someone who can HELP the squirrel. If she gets medication, it's possible she will recover. Please trust us to find a contact for you.

We have a great rehabber in NC who would take the squirrel and treat him can you tell us a town you are near?
He needs certain medications and need Subqtaneous fluids.

Admirable --- but it might cost this squirrel its life. If she was hit by a car 2 days ago, and now is not eating/drinking and not responding --- she needs experienced help immediately. We cannot tell you by that description what is wrong. She needs medications that only a rehabber or vet can give her.
You obviously care about her and want the best --- a licensed rehabber may be the only option for her.

Hi,
we are hydrating her right now. We have been offering her Puppy formula and also pecans because old enough. And yes she is on a heating pad on low. She is in a cage but for some reason she just wont eat drink unless force her and she is always sleeping and its hard to her up. You can hold her but after you do she gets very stressed out. is there any other suggestions.

We also have been giving her anti biotics that just arent working either. The anti biotics are Nystatin oral suspension USP

She more than likely has some severe head trauma. A cat hit squirrel always does. (you cant tell whats going on inside)?? I cant tell you how to care for it because you dont have the medications it needs. If he isnt getting any fluids let alone food I dont think he will be alive much longer. I just released a car hit squirrel the only reason that this squirrel made it was because the finder diligently found the appropriate help for squirrel. If you can do the same this squirrel still may have a chance.

.... because she is severely injured and slipping into a coma.
TONIGHT You do NOT need food or diets and do not need special lighting for her. You need to get her to someone who can help her. Please focus on that. If you want help: what town or city?

Has the rehabber examined the squirrel? What did he or she say?

I am going to be very blunt here, the squirrel is going to die. He needs attention and he needs it now. He cant drink on his own because he is near death. If you care at all about him Please get him the proper help.

i am not trying to be mean and i hope you don't take it this way...i know it kills you to think of giving your new friend up...but it very well could kill him if you don't. if you don't find help you will never have to worry about seeing this little fuzzy again. if you do find help...the rehabber may be willing to release it back around your yard once it's healed. your choice...life or death for the little guy.

Hi there! Can you please tell us why you're giving the antifungal drug Nystatin? Does she have a fungal infection? Is there something that is making you think she does? I think she's injured and needs to see a rehabber from the sound of it...

Hi, Simply put no one can help fully save one that is doing it hands on, and that takes a rehabber, or Vet preferably, to help. Otherwise, even with the best information we can provide, this squirrel likely will not survive without such intervention. We know of a Vet in N.C. that works with squirrels. Again, where you are is important to determine if you are close enough for that to help. We also have a rehabber on this board in N.C. Again, we need to know what city you are nearest to, to see if this rehabber can assist you. If not her though there are others we know of in N.C. that may be able to render aid to this squirrel. If you don't want to share that here, please send that to BM, or me, by private message. To do that just click on the avatar of the name, in the upperleft hand corner of the post; that will bring up a page with a link to send a Private message. Time is very important in trauma, so haste is needful!

squirrelgal897, you expect some kind of miracle diagnosis power from all of us, but you will not take one word of our advice.

I hope she continues to improve with time. Do watch for any inbalance as she improves, or pain.

She has been looked at by a vet. They told us she really needed hydration, we all ready new that. So then we finnally got her to drink and we also have her eating veggies, pecans all that sort of stuff

I'm glad she's showing improvement! I will cautiously move your thread from Life-Threatening to Non Life Threatening, so it does not trigger emails to rehabbers. Keep up the good work :thumbsup
