Little girl does NOT like the esbilac at all:shakehead She wants nothing to do with it!
She will eat the Hartz brand puppy milk replacer (but she really like it with a bit of peanut butter in it better)... She will eat the hartz, but she just won't hardly even touch the esbilac...
She's also very picky about her temp. of her food... Fussy little squirrel! :poke
Is it okay to leave her and let her keep eating the hartz since she seems to really like it better or do I need to *make* her switch to the esbilac?

Many times, the temperature is the key -- some like it very very warm. Also, it may take her a little bit to get used to it. Esbilac is the closest to the nutrition of mama squirrel so it's really the most preferred (and you already have it!). So it's worth it to keep trying. If you have flavored Pedialyte, you might try adding a small squirt (AFTER the Esbilac powder has already been mixed with water) just for a little flavor.

I would mix them together gradually over the next 3 to 4 feedings until she is totally on Esbilac. Esbilac is a very good well balanced formula. Much research has gone into their product. You could also add 4 or 5 drops of honey or pancake syrup to the Esbilac and see if she likes it better. Squirrels like their formula very warm (NOT HOT), when it begins to cool off they will stop eating. I recommend putting your cup with formula in it into a hot cup of water (hot bath) and testing formula each time I refill my syringe.

I have the liquid esbilac, they were out of the powder kind until tomorrow... Should I still put a little pedilyte in it?

Something else I noticed is that she likes to suck on her toes while she is sleeping.. IS that okay or do I need to stop her?

Don't mix Pedialyte with formula.
If her toes don't look red or swollen I think it is ok to suck on them. She is a different little girl:tilt
I think what foxsquirrel said about mixing them until on Esbilac is a good idea. The powder does taste different than the can so she may like it better.
(Since peanuts aren't the best food for squirrels, I wouldn't put it in the formula)
She sure is keeping you busy! you are doing a good job:thumbsup
